Carrigoran House Art Exhibition by local artist Frances Bailey
“Into the Light” Art Exhibition @ Carrigoran House by Frances Bailey
‘Into the Light’ is the title chosen by artist Frances Bailey for her latest exhibition which is currently running in the Health and Wellness Centre at Carrigoran House Newmarket-on-Fergus. On Friday night last it was launched by Centre manager Mary O’Dowd who had invited Frances to show her most recent work and some special works which are close to her heart. The title chosen for the exhibition reflects the light and colour in her paintings and also the ethos of the Health and Wellness Centre. Frances spoke about the value of art to the painter and the effect that painting and the use of bright colours can illuminate the mind and have a beneficial effect on the health and wellness of the person. Mary spoke about how the art exhibition will light up the centre for the month of October 2015 and invites all interested to visit the centre during opening hours weekly Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 4pm.

COMPUTER CLASSES BEGIN
We are delighted that our IT Activity Room is being used by clients and volunteers who have been benefiting from our computer classes which started this month. There are desktops, laptops, printers, modified keyboard & mouse, headsets, projector and screen to facilitate this learning and fun environment.
These classes are designed to introduce learners to the world of computers and the internet in an informal, fun and interactive way. Gerry White from Clare Local Development Company has facilitated these classes using equipment provided by LEADER for educational purposes. This introductory course will be follow up early next year now that the basics have been introduced.
We already use our computers and printers for arts and crafts and as a resource for our non national clients to read stories, poetry and items of interest from home in their own language
